Job Title:  Lending Team Lead

Reports to:  Lending Manager

Job Summary:

Ballinasloe Credit Union is looking to recruit an experienced Lending Team Lead to assist in supporting the Lending Manager by overseeing and managing the day-to-day activity within the Lending Division.   The successful candidate will lead a team of experienced lenders ensuring compliance within lending regulations, implementing strategies to optimize lending processes and providing exceptional services to our members.  The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of lending principles and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of the existing lending function, with particular focus on loan assessment and loan decisioning processes.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve outputs and compliance enhancements.
  • Demonstrate the necessary people management skills to lead an experienced lending team.
  • Proven ability to build relationships across other business functions and stakeholders, both internal and external, as required.
  • Proven ability to exercise a sizeable personal lending discretion.
  • Proven ability to assist and support the lending manager and team in the assessment and execution of mortgage transactions, always ensuring compliance with the appropriate credit policies.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the Lending division functions.
  • Implement efficiency measures to streamline workflows.
  • Prepare monthly reports for senior management and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.

 

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA)
  • 3rd Level Business Degree in a Finance related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory role
  • Previous experience in banking, risk management and financial analysis, with a specific focus on personal, business and mortgage lending
  • Strong communication, presentation, organisational and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of credit union operations and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work Independently.
  • High standard of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
